About the Instructors

Barry Boyce

Barry Boyce is the Founding Editor of Mindful Magazine and Mindful.org. He is a longtime meditation practitioner and teacher, as well as a professional writer and editor. He is the editor of, and a primary contributor to, The Mindfulness Revolution: Leading Psychologists, Scientists, Artists, and Meditation Teachers on the Power of Mindfulness in Daily Life.

Rich Fernandez

Rich Fernandez is the CEO of Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institude (SIYLI). He was previously the director of executive education and people development at Google, where he was also one of the first SIY teachers. Rich previously co-founded Wisdom Labs, and has also served in senior roles at eBay, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Bank of America.

Shelly Tygielski

Shelly Tygielsky spent almost 20 years in corporate America, immersed in Fortune 1000 organizations as a high-ranking executive in both public and privately-held companies, before finally turning toward her work as a mindfulness teacher. She now teaches "modern-life mindfulness" full-time, with a special emphasis on the business sector and athletic organizations. In 2016, Shelly launched "America Meditates", a grass-roots organization bringing 90 minute workshops to cities across America.

Amishi Jha

Amishi Jha is a renowned neuroscientist and researcher. She is an Associate Professor of Pscychology, and the Director of the Contemplative Neruoscience, Mindfulness Research & Practice Initiative, at the University of Miami. Her research focuses on the brain as being the foundation of attention, working memory, and mindfulness-based training. She is a leader within the mindfulness industry.

Mark Coleman

Mark Coleman is the author of Make Peace with Your Mind, and Awake in the Wild. He is the founder of the Mindfulness Institute and has an MA in Clinical Psychology. Mark has guided students on five continents as a corporate consultant, meditation teacher, and wilderness guide.

Rhonda Magee

Rhonda Magee is a professor of law at the University of San Francisco. She also is trained in sociology and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is a highly practiced facilitator of trauma-sensitive, restorative MBSR interventions for lawyers and law students, and is known for her work in minimizing the effects of social-identity-based bias. Rhonda Magee has been a visiting scholar at the Center for the Study of Law and Society, and is a visiting professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley.

Jessica Morey

Jessica Morey is the co-founder, executive director and lead teacher at Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme), a nonprofit organization that offers mindfulness training for teenagers, parents and educators. Jessica began practicing meditation a the age of 14, at the insight Meditation Society's teen retreats, where she has continued to practice and train in mindfulness and compassion meditation. Over the past ten years, Jessica Morey has taught mindfulness to thousands of teenagers and has led over 60 week-long meditation retreats for adolescents.

Judson Brewer

Judson Brewer MD, PhD, is a thought leader in the field of habit change and the "science of self-mastery", having combined over 20 years of experience with mindfulness training with his own scientific research. A professor and researcher at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, he has developed clinically proven app-based training to help people with emotional eating and anxiety.
